Laugh and shop 'til you drop

current mood: soupy

My LJ's dead for the moment. I don't know...server problem or something. Dunno when  I'll be able to access my LJ again. Boo.

AMA Mall Day Three today. So far, so good. People actually come to visit! Yay-ness! :D Went shopping (along with Charles and Nats at some point :D). No more money *cry* Jal says I'm a loser since it's my first time to go around the mall to actually browse through the trinkets being sold in the bazaar. Not my fault considering the fact that I spend most of my time in the AMA Mall Customer Care Center (a.k.a. AMA Headquarters) attending to the needs of customers. XD It's funny how when people notice the AMA Mall ID hanging around my neck, they ask me what stall am I managing, and when I tell them that I'm actually an AMA Mall Project Director, they'd give me a surprised look and congratulate me for success of the project. I don't know whether the surprised look they've all had is a good thing or not. XDDD

Most of my 3-hour break today was spent laughing my ass off with Alvin--to the point that I was laughing, crying, and my tummy was aching like hell. >D Sabaw-ness to the max since the devil dance. Mind you, I wasn't even talking much from all the laughing. I think the climax started with the Passions of the Tongue, and then I had to stop myself from laughing since I needed to go to class. On the way to class, I still had tear stains on my cheeks and a red face from all the laughing and crying. Talk about a productive break! haha >u< Afterwards, I went with my blockmates and had another round of sabaw moments at Manang's. Oh, I just lurve our color scheme for the day. hihihihi ;)) Kanina pang pre-Th121 class kaming sabaw. haha XD Mmmm soupy-ness!

Gel said that the ACTM Wired Newsletter has been receiving good feedback since its release last week. The hassles of being Features editor for Wired is rewarding after all! :)

Celadon Kris Kringle officially begins now. Baby, mommy's excited to see you! :D

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

There's a fine, fine line - Avenue Q

There's a fine, fine line between a lover and a friend;
There's a fine, fine line between reality and pretend;
And you never know 'til you reach the top if it was worth the uphill climb.

There's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.

There's a fine, fine line between a fairy tale and a lie;
And there's a fine, fine line between "You're wonderful" and "Goodbye."
I guess if someone doesn't love you back it isn't such a crime,
But there's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of your time.

And I don't have the time to waste on you anymore.
I don't think that you even know what you're looking for.
For my own sanity, I've got to close the door
And walk away...
Oh...

There's a fine, fine line between together and not
And there's a fine, fine line between what you wanted and what you got.
You gotta go after the things you want while you're still in your prime...

There's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.

Ah, the first day of the sem

Current mood: unknown
Last edited: November 14, 2006

As usual, the first day of classes for the semester was a bit ho-hum. Nothing much happened today save for the usual early dismissal and syllabus discussion. Typical. Nevertheless, it was nice reuniting with my blockmates, orgmates, and fellow ASLAns (shirt day today!:D). God, I've missed them all so much.

Oh, and lookie! New blog layout for the Christmas Season. Got a layout done by Marianne and made it my own by redesigning and giving the layout a 180 degree makeover. Yay! :D

*editus*

My profs have been nothing but great so far. They're either really good at making an impression that they're really good OR they're naturally really good. hahahaha ^u^ Ma'am Yecla reminds me of my friendly and mommy-like CLE teachers back in ICA; Sir Anjo was intimidating at first with his "mataray"-ness, but then he turned out to be okay; Ma'am Hufemia's really nice and friendly; Ma'am Salvador's a great speaker and very frank; Sir Ariel's one uber-cool Fil14 prof (benta sa akin lahat ng hirit niya); and CD's one awesome art prof. No complaints yet. lol XD Will have to wait and see come midterm. :D

It's funny how I often mistake my professors for classmates of mine. Take for instance Sir Timothy Teng, Kakoi, and CD. Either profs are getting younger or I'm getting older. hahaha XD

In other news, my phone works! Yay! After a week of being out of touch from society, I can now be reached. Yay-ness! :3  I discovered that apart from my battery being worn out, my charger's also not functioning properly. Oddly and eerily enough, it seemed as though my battery charger was sucking the life out of my phone's battery instead of giving life to it. Thanks to Casper, I managed to recharge my *new* cellphone battery with his charger. Thanks dear, you're a lifesaver. ^___^

Bah, having a Sony Ericsson phone when the rest of my family uses Nokia is such a hassle. I can't use a Nokie charger to charge my phone's battery. XDDD

Your Dominant Intelligence is Spatial Intelligence
You've got a good sense of space and how the world around you looks.

You can close your eyes and "see" images. You have innate artistic talent.

An eye for color and shapes, you're also a natural designer.

Since you think in pictures, visual aids and demonstartions help you learn best.

You would make a good navigator, sculptor, visual artist, inventor, architect, interior designer, or engineer.

Boredom blues equate to blogthings

Taken from Sir Kakoi's blog:
What You Really Think Of Your Friends
Paul is your soulmate.
You truly love MM.
You consider Daphne your true friend.
You know that Uana is always thinking of you.
You'll remember My Sister for the rest of your life.
You secretly think Alvin is creative, charming, and a bit too dramatic at times.
You secretly think that Maika is colorful, impulsive, and a total risk taker.
You secretly think that Charles is loyal and trustworthy to you. And that Charles changes lovers faster than underwear.
You secretly think Sari is shy and nonconfrontational. And that Sari has a hidden internet romance.

I entered the names of the people that just came to mind when associated with a color. This is what happens when you answer a color association meme. Can I just laugh now at the results?! Laughtrip naman nito. But OMG. Some of them are freakishly true---like the fact that Paul's my ASLA soulmate; I love MM (yihee jk XD); Daphie's been a true friend to me ever since I can remember; Uana's always thinking of me (ahem ahem); I'll forever remember my sister; Alvin is creative, charming, and a bit too dramatic; Maika is a risk-taker (ahahahahaha); Charles changes lovers faster than underwear (wahahahaha); and that Sari is shy (and has a hidden internet romance. kidding:P). FREAKY XD

The Paul Mayuyu Way

Currently: In the library with Paul and Zeus (YM-ing pa kahit magkalapit lang kami...labo XD)
Current mood: Unknown--all I know is, my phone's battery's dead, so don't bother texting me til further notice.
***

Finally done with my 2nd sem registration. Kudos to the RegTeam for a hassle-free Registration :)

After a long debate with myself on which free elective to choose (lit crit or painting), Painting finally won out. I just realized that I needed to take a subject which involved stress-relieving activities, and at the same time help with the resurrection of my lifeless 1st sem qpi; hence, Painting (Alvin, sorry I didn't take lit crit).

I got Yecla for Th121 (good feeback on her), Lorenzana for Com12 (Comm majors are telling me to flee and loadrev quick!), Hufemia for Sci10 (Adrian tells me she's good), Salvador for PoS100 (A-able daw sabi ni Tasha), TBA for Fil14 (I hope he's good--lol :D), Mr. Bonoan for PE101 (open notes daw sabi ni Paul), and Osi for LS10 (Da says he's strict with the format and length of paper, but nevertheless, gives reasonable grades).

Had ASLunch today with Claire, Sassy, Zeus, Charles, and Paul. It was an enjoyable bonding-turned-inspirational session that by the end of lunch time, Zeus, Claire, and I decided to follow the way of THE Paul Mayuyu---when faced with difficult situations, profs and feelings of despair, ask yourself, "WHAT WOULD PAUL MAYUYU DO?". And then do it. Maybe, just maybe, you'll ACE those hell subjects and/or subjects with hell profs. Uyyyy, flattered naman siya. haha XD Bow ako sa iyo--pramis

Question of the day:
Shall I pull a Paul Mayuyu and stick with Lorenzana or try to flee and LoadRev? XD

TnTs: TnT party on Nov.9. See yahoogroup for more details.

Can I just say that...

...after 6 long years, I am finally free from braces?! Yep, I'm no longer wearing braces for my teeth. To be honest, it feels kinda weird not having them on my teeth--it feels like I'm toothless or something, but hey, who's complaining?! Here's to sparkly, straight, and shiny white teeth (and no more tightening of braces) for the years to come. Yay! *smiles*

I'll never look at toothbrushing the same way again.

Seriously speaking, Colgate toothpaste will forever remind me of those 5 days spent with 34 other passionate and inspiring souls in the 5th Ateneo Student Leaders' Assembly (ASLA), a week-long leadership congress which took place at the Villa Ronar Garden Resort from Oct. 23-27.  As funny as the thought of toothbrush may sound, although I was seriously lacking sleep (my roomies can attest to that), the 5 days' worth of memories spent in ASLA were some of my life's most precious memories, and nothing in this world can change that fact. I entered the 5-day congress with little expectations, yet I emerged as a changed (wo)man with newfound insights, experiences, memories, and (hopefully) lasting friendships. A person may know how to lead, but a true leader knows how to serve and follow.

To JQ, for being such an awesome ASLA adviser. Para kang Daddy. hahaha XD
To Deybid, for the inspiration, the letter, the decors on my envelope...for everything.
To Pam, for the care and concern
To Nash, Kira, Sab, Babam, Jun, JP, and the rest of the peeps, for making ASLA possible
To Clang, Yvie, Omi, and Yas for a job well done in facilitating
To Yas and Dino for bearing with my kakulitan during pre-ASLA
To Retch and KD for the lovely pics

ROOMIES IN THE BEST ROOM EVAH (yeahboy!):
Sari, Claire, and baby Melai

Thanks for the first-day ghost stories, the laughs, the pictorial rituals, the ang-tagal-ni-Melai-sa-CR moments, and the friendship.  I would never ever trade anyone else to be my roomies. You guys RAWK!

ALAS QUATRO / THE SECRET SOCIETY OF SECRETS:
Babidi, Che, Josh, Paul, and facis Clang and Yvie
I'd be lying if I said that you guys made no impact in my life--you did. Thanks for the trust and friendship, for the insights, advice, and secrets shared. From early morning Christmas carols to late night bonding sessions while eating pansit, memories would surely be incomplete without Alas Quatro/SSS. Here's to lasting friendships, more weirdness, more craziness, and more laughs. The Secret Society of Secrets shall remain secret for now. lol XD

TEAM WHITE (no pic available):
Chrissie, Pau, Lenard, Aga, Che, Paul, Brian, Claire, Melai, Gabby (I'm missing out on someone...lagot XD)
I learned to let go and trust more often because of you guys. Thank you for the wonderful memories filled with Horny Balls, Savage Balls, the stupid stick, the Amazing Web, and other "BUHAT" moments. Thank you, too, for the candlight sharings and inspiration (special mention to Aga who was my fish vendor friend hahaha XD)

TOOTHBRUSH CENTRAL:
Charles, Paul, Josh, Hecky, Babidi, Ron, Lenard, William, Gabby, Zeus, and the rest of the man invaders
These guys owe us packs of Chips Ahoy for invading our room daily--either to hang out or to use the bathroom. Most of them come from our neighboring manly room. hahaha

Thank you for the fun, wacky, and toothbrush moments. Special mention to Lenard who wanted to become a gurl and stay with us instead, and Hecky for wanting to adopt a girl so that their room would smell better (hahaha).
Guys from the Angel Room, you know we love yah!

JEEPNEY TWO (no pic available as of now):
Paul, Che, Josh, Claire, Melai, Charles, Joanie, Meggie, Chummy, Fran, Ron, Mika, Mell, etc
Thank you for the crazy jeepney rides, the mind-boggling mind games, and wacky stories. Jeepney rides were never boring because of you guys. Sa susunod na jeepney joyride ulit! hahaha

SOME OF MY CLOSEST FRIENDS:
Paul, my soulmate and Sassy, my sabaw mate
(not in pic) Josh, my bangag mate
In a span of 5 days, I've developed friendships with people whom I barely knew or seen around campus. I can say that Paul and Sassy have been two of my closest friends in ASLA (apart from the wonderful roomates). Thank you, Paul, for being my soulmate in ASLA. Buti hindi tayo nagsawaan sa isa't isa. haha XD Thank you,Sassy, for being one heck of an awesome ka-vibesmate. Who knew that singing together in the veranda would be the start of a wonderful friendship? Oh, and how could I possibly forget Josh?! Bangag memories would certainly be incomplete without you! Thank you guys for the inspiration and for the laughs!

Batch 5, let's change the world one step at a time!

Like a stone cast into the sea of life, we can make ripples, touch other people's lives, and make a difference. A ripple can go a long, long way.

Thank you, Batch 5 and everyone else who had made this possible, for the wonderful memories.

I love you guys and I miss you!

...that's when you truly live."

I forgot what freedom tasted like.

I can't believe it---the sem's finally OVER. Sweet, sweet FREEDOM. Goodbye Acc15, Com11, Hi16, JSP1, Law11, and Psy101--you will not be missed (well, most of you). Here's to three weeks of fun and relaxation (not! haha) until the start of another semester. Cheers!

It all boils down to this:

ASLA next week! I'm so excited! Yey! :D

Now that I actually have time to blog, I find myself at loss for words >_< Niiiccceeee.

Some of my fondest memories of the sem have been spent with you. Thank you for making my first semester worth the while.

You know what sucks? It's having THREE exams in one day (with the possibility of it lasting from 0730 to 1330), a HELL subject exam for the next day, and the LAST exam for the semester on a Saturday morning. Kamusta naman diyan? I'll try my best not to die from all this madness.

Clickety-click the links below if you're bored:

Johari Me : What are my positive traits? Are they that visible?
Nohari Me: What are my negative traits? Are they that visible?
Post a Memory of Me: Any fond memories we've shared? Post 'em!
Ateneo-Celadon: The official website that Alvin and I had been working on for nearly a sem.

P.S. I was blog-hopping when I came across this ICAn who had posted on her blog a poem that I had previously written for ICA's literary magazine. Awww...I have a fan. lol XDDD
